The article is suggesting of giving away our humanity to machines. To give our lives to machines that will eventually be more intelligent than us. That we must soon become like the machines, to connect ourselves with the machines. The article suggest that we put our life, our emotion into the machine, which will eventually become way smarter than us. The machines will then decide what to do with our life, and it will decide wether we need our emotion or not, wether it is efficient or not. People are becoming like robots, they all work for one thing, which is to work for further advancement. If we are not careful "maybe the computers will turn on humanity and annihilate us." The article pretty much is stating that if we are not careful the machines will take over.
In Brave New World, it is a good way to compare to the article. In Brave New World it tells how humanity works for technological advancement. That that is all they work for. There is no individuality, that they work for society, to work to make better and smarter machines. They are losing humanity, they only exist to further machine's advancement. People are becoming like robots, they work only for one thing, to work to further machine's intelligences. They claim that it is best for society. In sense, by progressing in technology, we are losing individuality and humanity.
